His Vision – Our Venture
Kaimuki Christian Church is expanding our facilities to house our growing church and school 'ohana, in order to extend God's love and message of hope to our community. The expansion of our campus will enhance the high-quality, values-based Christian educational experience that Kaimuki Christian School provides.
The Phase 2a expansion will add much needed classroom and administrative space to add grade 12, resulting in a full pre-school through high school Christian education, providing much greater value to parents, students and alumni. Our inaugural senior class will graduate in May, 2016.
This expansion will strengthen the church's outreach to students and their families with the love and message of Jesus, as well as providing additional space for ministry activities, Bible study groups, and offices for staff.
The Phase 2a project will create a new 2.5 story Education Center, which will include 3 new multi-purpose rooms, 2 additional classrooms, and expanded administrative offices for our staff. While more classrooms, storage space and administrative floor-space are important drivers for the expansion, the primary goal of our venture is to see lives changed, future generations reached, and people equipped to serve the Lord.
To insure that our focus is not just on our needs, Kaimuki Christian Church is sharing 5% of the collected contributions to build schools in one of the neediest communities of the world – the slums of Nairobi, Kenya. This project will be achieved in partnership with Christian Missionary Fellowship, and will illustrate how faithfulness in Kaimuki can impact lives halfway around the world.
"His Vision – Our Venture" seeks both one-time and periodic investments over a three-year period to achieve a target of $3 million. These gifts are based on sacrificial giving above donors' existing tithes and offerings.
Construction began in June, 2015, and is scheduled to be completed in July, 2016.
Total construction costs are budgeted to be roughly $7.85 million. Phase 2a—completion of the Education Center—will be accomplished with the $1.5 million Clarence T.C. Ching Foundation grant, an anticipated $3 million in "His Vision – Our Venture" pledges, and cash savings.
